World without light is dark outside. Eye is the most important of all
the senses. It is like a camera A minor problem is not attended
properly may cause refraction defect, or loss of visitor. An ophthalmic
surgeon primarily depends on a skilled optometrist for eye exercises
refraction checkup; eye hygiene, & various eye tests with an aim to supplement
prevention of eye diseases, often first aid, & on matters of nutrition
to maintain healthy sight. |
| Eye glass manufacturing, grinding & power testing, are the subjects in
which optometrist is trained. Except surgical approach to alienate eye
problems is optometrist is trained in conservative methods for
prevention of eye ailments restoration of sight, improve vision & strength of
eye ball muscles. |

| AWARD OF DIPLOMA |
| The U.P. State Medical Faculty will award a diploma in Refraction &
Optometry to those candidate who pass the final year examination
conducted by the faculty and have completed 3 months internship successfully. |
