| What is Physiotherapy |
| Physiotherapy is also known as PHYSICAL THERAPY. This therapy is
recognised by WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION and being practiced at international
level. It is the branch of Modern Medical Sciences which is used to
correct the conditions and diseases of mainly musculo skeletal system. In
the diseases like Arthritis, Poliomyelitis, Sacroilitis, Myopathies,
Cervical Spondylitis etc. and pains caused by muscular & nervous
disorders; physiotherapy is the only treatment alongwith the chemotherapy. The
treatment methods in physiotherapy includes exercises, use of
electrical impulses, use of heat & ultraviolet rays, use of short wave diathermy
& therapeutic, ultrasound and hydrotherapy. |

The students of physiotherapy are subjected to study the Human
Anatomy, Physiology, General Pathology, General Medicine & Surgery, Applied
Physics & Kinesiology. |

| The present number of Physiotherapist is very low while the need in
our society (in Govt. & Pvt. sectors) is very high. Thus, the future of
Physiotherapist has very good scopes of jobs in Medical Colleges,
District Hospitals, Nursing Homes & Polyclinics. |

| Award of Diplomas - after completion of three months compulsory
internship in Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital by U.P. State Medical
Faculty, Lucknow. |
