The department has a museum and teaching facilities for training students to enable them to provide comprehensive, promotive, preventive and curative services to society. Urban and Rural Health Training Centres have been established to facilitate these services.

These services are also provided in the field through a team of Doctors, health workers including Medical Social Workers, Auxiliary Nurses, Midwives, Health Inspectors and Health Educators. Students posted there are imparted relevant field training in all health activities undertaken by the Centre. The URBAN HEALTH TRAINING CENTRE is located at the ERA Medical Centre at Victoria Street, about 5 km. from Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital

About 2800 families in the defined area have been registered with the Centre and the process is on with a plan to cover 50,000 people with a view to providing basic health services as well as training our undergraduates, postgraduate students and interns.
The RURAL HEALTH TRAINING CENTRE is situated at Andhe Ki Chowki near Kakori and village Ghaila which is about 7 Km. and 6 Km. respectively from Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital. More than 3500 families have been registered covering a population of about 40000 People. Health activities at both centers include regular outpatient services, antenatal care, immunization programs, family welfare services and participation in the Pulse Polio Program. Health Education session and distribution of iron and folic acid tablets to pregnant and lactating women, vitamin A syrup to the children are part of the activities carried out by the centre. Facilities for routine investigation are available at the laboratories in these centres.
