Department of Anatomy
The department has distinguished teachers, an informative museum with a multitude of specimen and models for study and ready references. There is a specimen of the smallest and the youngest foetus as well. There is a spacious dissection hall. In the History Lab, important histological slides are prepared and examined. Most model available in our museum were prepared here only and not only aesthetically of very good quality but correct anatomically.presentally we are in a position in not onlymeeting the requirement of the models by various departments of this college but ven of a sister medical college. Department is also refreshing the knowledge of postgraduation students according to their needs. Department is now planning for advanced research in the field of neuro anatomy and by developing tissue culture techniques intend to develop cytogenetic studies and also to establish neuronal cultures. |

Department of Physiology
The department has eminent teachers. The Human and Clinical labs have all the modern gadgets, where practical teaching is done on various topics like BP management. Perimetry, Spirometry, Stethography, Cerography. The different systems of the body are examined by the students. There is a good research lab for practical teaching on skeletal muscles and the heart of the frog apart from other things. Department is planning to establish pulmonary function test in the department. Various research projects are going on in the department. |

Department of Biochemistry
The department of Biochemistry is one of the departments established with the start of the Medical College and founded by Dr Farzana Mahdi. The department deals with the biochemical and molecular aspect of medicine and diseases. Besides the teaching and training of undergraduate MBBS students department is also engaged in academic and research activities of postgraduates students. Department has highly learned staff having long experience of teaching in medical and clinical biochemistry. It has well equipped Undergraduate Lab, Research Lab, Central Research Lab and Clinical Biochemistry Lab in the hospital. The Clinical Lab is well equipped having Semi Auto Analyzer (RA-50), Instalyte, fully automated Biochemistry analyzer Erba (XL 300, Trans Asia) and skilled technicians. Average test performed in the lab are about 500 test per day and having facilities for investigating liver function test, renal function test, blood sugar, enzymatic investigations like total CPK, CKMP (for diagnosing acute MI), amylase and Na+, K+ etc. Department is having various ongoing research projects funded by ICMR and also some project are in pipeline. Department is highly equipped with more or less every possible modern amenities required for scientific research and there is long list of research publication in his accounts. Central research lab have designed a new pair of primer for the molecular diagnostic in tuberculosis. Department is also engaged in developing new protocols and assessment of free radicals with special reference to the human diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, alzhimer disease and diabaties. |
