DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL MEDICINE
The Department of General Medicine integrates the specialties of Cardiology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Neurology disciplines. In fact it provides the basics of the clinical science to all the clinicians whether it is Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmic, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology etc.
The students are taught in holistic manner by dida ctic lectures, bedside teaching, demonstrations with special emphasis on clinical and practical teaching and training of every student.
Apart from treating patients for various diseases, special clinics are held for Diabetes, Gastrointestinal diseases, Allergy, Asthma, Hypertension & Cardiovascular disease and Endocrinal disorder. Endoscopy is also carried out on routine basis. An average of two dialysis patients are attended every day, dialysis is carried out using the Torey machine via a Reverse Osmosis Plant.

DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SURGERY
Super specialist surgeries like Gastrointestinal surgery, Laparoscopic surgery, Endocrine surgery, Paediatric surgery, Plastic Surgery, Oncological surgeries, Urosurgery and Cardiothoracic surgery are performed routinely by qualified and well experienced surgeons. The department also runs Cancer Chemotherapy, Diabetic Foot Clinic and Breast Clinic in OPD. The department plans to start advanced laparoscopic surgery of colon, stomach and kidney.

DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY
All facilities for the treatment of pre-natal, natal and postnatal problems, deliveries and Caesarean Section are readily available at all hours. The department is well equipped with cardiotocographic and ultrasound equipment, with the added advantage of transvaginal sonography. Gynae OPD has Video Colposcope for diagnosis of preinvasive and invasive diseases of the cervix, specially for the early diagnosis of carcinoma cervix. In future, the department is planning to establish an IVF unit and a semen bank

DEPARTMENT OF RADIODIAGNOSIS
The Radio Diagnosis and Imaging Department of ELMC&H is one of the best centres of its kind in North India.
The Department has very recently acquired a state-of-the-art MRI MACHINE (HITACHI, JAPAN). with high resolution and very precise diagnostic efficiency. It has become very valuable in the diagnosis of diseases of the CNS and musculoskeletal system. Dedicated mamography coil is of help in MR mamogram. Diffusion and MRCP sequences have excellent results. Besides this the department also posses the most modern and state-of-the-art machines like Spiral CT Scanner, Mammography machine, High-Resolution Colour Doppler, the latest Ultrasound and X-ray machines.
The Siemens SOMATOM EMOTION SINGLE SLICE SPIRAL CT in the hospital is fully equipped for scanning the whole body with slices as thin as 1mm. Sagittal and Coronal Reformations with 3D reconstruction and 3D volume rendering are possible, giving a new approach to diagnosis in trauma, neuro, ortho and spine disease. CT angio and perfusion studies can also be done. The whole process is fast since the department houses a dry view camera -- KODAK 8100. It has exclusive software for Virtual Endoscopy. Regular intervention & CT guided procedures (FNAC & Biopsies) are also done.
The hospital has the latest COLOR DOPPLER equipped with four probes 3D USG and harmonic imaging facility is also available.
The department also has two grayscale ultrasound machines equipped with all four probes. Visceral and small organs like Breast, Thyroid, Eye, Thorax, Intracranial, Musculoskeletal and Scrotal Ultrasounds are regularly done. Peripheral Vascular Studies, Carotid, Peripheral Limb, Renal, Hepatobiliary, Penile and Fetal Colour Doppler studies are also done. Intervention & USG guided procedures like P.C.N.(Percutaneous Nephrostomy),sonosalpinography, FNAC, Biopsy, Abscess Drainage and Cyst Aspiration are being regularly performed.
The hospital is also equipped with 5 X-ray machines: 800mA X-ray (IITV) (Shimazdu), 500 mA X-ray (Siemens), 300 mA, and Mobile 100 mA (Siemens) & Dental X-ray. The 800mA flouroscopyunit has been imported from Japan & has remote controlled table & R/F system Flexavision. It is the only one in Uttar Pradesh & can go upto 1000mA. The 500 mA unit has a fully motorized table for 5 positions with Fluoroscopy and Spot film Device used for special procedure like HSG, Barium Studies, Cholangiogram, IVP, MCU, RGU and Fistulograms. Our dedicated Mamography machine has both Molybdenum & Rhodium filters.

DEPARTMENT OF RADIOTHERAPY
The department of Radiotherapy has recently been established in the college. The department takes care of cancer patient and also runs diagnostic workshop for
the tumour cases. Chemotherapy is being carried out as routine and we propose to start Radiation Oncology unit in the near future.

DEPARTMENT OF PAEDIATRICS
The department boasts under its command a well-equipped State-of-art NICU Unit with ventilator.. The department of Paediatrics includes PICU, wards and neonatology unit as well. A genetic unit providing clinical genetic services has been added to the department. The department is successfully running an Immunisation clinic, a 'Well Baby' clinic, an Asthma and ARI clinic, and a Neurology clinic. In future, the department will provide prenatal diagnostic services and molecular diagnostic tests for common and rare genetic disorders.

DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY & STD
The department is fully equipped with side lab, minor OT and relevant facilities to manage all skin and sexually transmitted diseases. Most of the dermacological procedures are being done on regular basis. The department is having latest phototherapy unit which is used as routine.

DEPARTMENT OF ANAESTHESIOLOGY AND CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE
The department has fully equipped operation theatres with central supply & advanced anesthesia machine with in built ventilator & 8-channel latest monitor for all types of invasive monitoring, gas monitoring and neuromuscular monitoring.
The faculty is involved in all types of surgical and supersepciallity operations. Department has its own training manikin, both adult & pediatric for training cardiopulmonary resuscitation for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Department is running eight bedded well equipped I.C.U for management of critically ill patients. Department is also providing pain relief under pain clinic especially for chronic pains.

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY
Besides regular clinics for OPD patients with neuropsychiatric disorders, super specialty clinics are organized for patients of headaches, epilepsy, child and adolescent problems, dementia , sexual dysfunction and sleep disorders. The Department is equiped with latest Neuro Psychological tests, Portable Computerised EEG and has facility of psychotherapy, counseling and biofeedback under the supervision of a trained clinical psychologist. Indoor admission facilities are also available.

DEPARTMENT OF TUBERCULOSIS & CHEST DISEASES
A DOTS centre has been started under RNTCP program under which patients are heavily enrolled and cured by this department. The DOTS Centre has been judged as the best functioning DOTS Centre among all the Centres in U.P. Department runs weekly Asthma Clinic and also organise Asthma Camps at least once a month. The department is having Spirometry, Flexible fibre optic video Bronchoscope, Arterial blood gas analyzer machine, BIPAP machine and Invasive mechanical ventilator etc.

DEPARTMENT OF OPHTHALMOLOGY
The department extends exemplary services to patient of eye disorders in and around Lucknow. The department is equipped with facilities for Intra Ocular Lens Implantation, Phacosurgery, Lasers, Nd:Yag Laser, Automated Field Analyzer, Fundus Angiography units and Green Laser.
