Department of Medicine
Apart from treating patients for various diseases, special clinics for diabetes, Gastro- intestinal diseases, Allergy, Asthma, Hypertension and Cardio vascular diseases & Endocrinology are held. Endoscopy is also carried out.A nephrology unit under the able guidance of a qualified nephrologists and technicians is functional. Dialysis is done using the Torey machine via Reverse Osmosis Plant, at a nominal rate of Rs. 500/- per dialysis approximately and an average of 2 dialysis per day are being undertaken. Due to the low cost of the dialysis for many poor patients with ESRD. The future plans are to train dialysis technicians under able guidance, to provide ultrasound guided kidney biopsies in patients with proteinuria with/without haematuria, and to perform peritoneal dialysis in patients where haemodialysis is contraindicated. Very recently, the department has been permitted to start post-graduation courses for which MCI has sanction four post graduation seats. |

Department of Paediatrics
A well-equipped N.I.C.U, P.I.C.U. and ward are fully functional. The department of Paediatrics includes a neonatology unit as well. A genetic unit has been added to the department which provides clinical genetic services. Department is successfully running the Immunisation clinic, Well baby clinic, Asthama and ARI clinic and Neurology clinic.
The unit also plans to provide prenatal diagnostic services and molecular diagnostic tests for common and rare genetic disorders in future. Deparment has also started postgraduation course as per the permission granted by the MCI and Govt. of India. |

Department of Dermatology
& S.T.Ds

Department of Tuberculosis
& Chest Diseases
A DOTS centre has been started under RNTCP program under which 105 patients are presently enrolled and more than 130 patients have been cured in this department. Deparment has also started postgraduation course as per the permission granted by the MCI and Govt. of India. |

Department of Psychiatry
Patients with Neuropsychiatric disorders are treated in this department. Besides, regular clinics, super specialty clinics are also organized for persistent headaches, epilepsy, child and adolescent problems, dementia and sexual dysfunction. Deparment has also started postgraduation course as per the permission granted by the MCI and Govt. of India. |

Department of Surgery
The faculty members of department of surgery are highly qualified and well experienced in their area of speciality. All type of major and minor surgeries are performed regularly. Super specialist surgical operations in Gastrointestinal surgery , Laproscopic surgery, Endocrine surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Oncological surgeries Urology and Cardiothoracic Surgery are performed routinely. Department also runs Cancer Chemotherapy and Breast Clinic in OPD. Department has plan to start advanced laproscopic surgery of colon, stomach, kidney. Deparment has also started postgraduation course as per the permission granted by the MCI and Govt. of India. |

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
All facilities fro the treatment of pre-natal, natal and postnatal problems, deliveries, and Caesarian Section are readily available at all hours, All medical and surgical facilities to deal with diseases of the female reproductive organs are available. Department well equipped with cardiotocographic machine, ultrasound machine with added advantage of transvaginal sonography. Gynae OPD has Video Colposcpe for diagnosis of pre invasive and invasive diseases of cervix, specially for the early diagnosis of carcinoma cervix. Deparment has also started postgraduation course as per the permission granted by the MCI and Govt. of India. In future department is planning for assisted reproductive technique I. V. F. unit and semen bank will be established. |

Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
The department of Orthopaedics like all other departments, is well staffed and well-equipped. A fully functional trauma unit is available in this department that tackles all sorts of emergencies. Operations are performed under image intensifier. A total hip replacement and anthroscopic surgery of knee is performed as a routine procedure. of this department has been associated with tertiary care of post polio paralysis cases and has attended many operative surgical camps in UP & Madhya Pradesh. ELMC &H also organizes polio surgery camps. |

Department of Otorhinolaryngology
Department of Ear, Nose and Throat has a fully equipped with all the modern gadgets with state of art equipments like Carl Zeiss operating microscope with camera, monitor attachments for micro ear surgery, Karl Stroz Hopkins rigid sinuscopees with stroz camera and monitor attachments for teaching purposes. Audiometry and Speech Therapy Unit. Microsurgery of Ear and Throat is being done with the German Karl Zeiss Microscope. Endoscopy and Endoscopic Laser Unit for latest state of the art surgeries in E.N.T is also being planned. Recently department has started post-graduation course as permitted by MCI and Govt. of India. |

Department of Ophthalmology
Besides imparting teaching to MBBS students, is also providing also providing exemplary services to patient of Eye diseases in lucknow and surrounding areas. Facility of all types of surgical procedures and specialized investigation are available in the ophthalmic discipline. Department is equipped with facilities of Intra Ocular Lens Implantation, Phaco-surgery and Lasers. Shortly we are goning to equipped with Nd Yag Laser, Automated field analyzer and Fundus Angiography units. In recognition of Opthalmology department’s infrastructure, working & available facilities; MCI has granted permission to start postgraduate courses in this discipline. Apart from academic activities several research projects are under going. |

Department of Dental Surgery
The department has advanced facilities in Scaling with Ultrasonic Scalar and Composite Restoration (Tooth Coloured). All treatments like Extractions, Root Canal Treatment, Restoration (Silver Amalgam and Glass Inomer) are done on a regular basis. Orthodontic and Prosthodontic treatment with Lab facility is available. |

This is one of the best centres in the hospital. Apart from the latest Ultrasound and X -ray machines, state of the art facilities such as a latest Spiral CT Sqanner and High resolution Colour Doppler have also been installed. |

Department of Anaesthesiology
Skilled anaesthetists in this department conduct and administer anaesthesia in all types of surgical procedures both major and minor related to various specialties like General surgery, Orthopaedic, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology and ENT. Besides, super specialty operations of Neurosurgery, Plastic surgery, Faciomaxillary surgery, Urology, Endoscopic procedures etc. are also managed. Now department has started post graduation course which is duly permitted by MCI and Govt. of India. Department have also manikins for cardiopulmonary resuscititation both adult and pediatrics. Department has eight beded well equipped ICU for management of critically ill patients. |

Department of Community
Medicine
The department has a museum and teaching facilities for training the student in order to enable them to provide comprehensive, promotive, preventive and curative services to society. Urban and Rural Health Training Centers have been established to facilitate these services. Extensive immunization plan is vigorously followed. Preventive measures are emphasized in both the centres and importance highlighted. Now post graduate course has also come up in our department and number of research activities is also going on. |
