Urban & Rural Health Training Centre |
|

| |
 |
Urban
and Rural Health Training Centres are established under
the Department of Community Medicine for training of students
for providing comprehensive promotive, preventive and
curative services under the roof.
These services are also provided in the field through
a band of health workers including Medical Social Worker,
Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, Health Inspectors and Health
Educators. These workers visit families according to schedule.
Student who are regularly posted there are imparted training
in all the activities of the Center. |

The Urban
Health Centre is situated at Era Medical centre, at Victoria Street about 5 Km.
from Era’s Lucknow Medical College & Hospital.
About 1,800 families of defined area have been registered
with the Centre and the process is going on with a plan
to cover 20,000 populations for providing the health services
and for the training of the students.
Rural Health Training Centre
is situated at Andhe Ki Chowki near Kakori about 7 Km.
from Era’s Lucknow Medical College & Hospital.
2,300 Families have been registered covering a population
of about 25,000. |

Health activities at both the centres include regular out patient
services, antenatal care, immunization programme and participation
in Pulse Polio programme, health education sessions, distribution
of Iron & Folic Acid tablets to the pregnant & lactating
women and Vitamin A syrup to the children. Facility for routine
investigation is available at the Centres labs.
Further, Directly Observed Treatment
Short Course (DOTS), Chemotherapy for the treatment of patients
suffering from tuberculosis, under the WHO programme are being
carried out regularly. Leprosy patients are also treated under
the National Leprosy Control Programme. Mental Health &
Drug De-addiction services are also provided at these Centres.
